Sony’s newest top shelf headphones are the MDR-1s (price TBA), and on paper at least, they appear poised to deliver the kind of sound that almost – almost – makes songs like “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” listenable. With large 40mm neodymium drivers, a response range of 4Hz-80kHZ, Bluetooth availability, and a slick closed back design, there’s a lot to like here. Noise-cancelling is also an option, but if you choose it, well, then you won’t be able to hear the Black Eyed Peas will you?
