The newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4 is surely more evolution than revolution, but when you’re evolving from the standout success of the S3, a complete makeover is hardly necessary. The S4 is a little slimmer and a little lighter than its predecessor, despite featuring a bigger screen in the form a of a 5″ 1080p Super AMOLED display. The blazing fast Snapdragon 600 processor will be running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and every model will come with 2GB of RAM, a generous 2,600mAh battery, and your choice of 16, 32, or 64GB of storage. So what’s new?
Well, Samsung sounds pretty hyped up about the cameras– a 13MP shooter on the back and 2MP deal in the front. There’ll also be some nifty new photo software on board, including Eraser mode, which lets you automatically detect motion in the background of a series of shots and then remove the unwanted distractions. Other new features with the S4 include Air Gesture, which lets you scroll through photos and pages without touching the screen; Group Play, enabling the syncing of music with other Samsung phones; an IR blaster that turns your phone into a TV remote; and a fitness tracker/pedometer.
