Then you cry. 47-year-old Jason Barber, an English farmer, has achieved his dream of creating the world’s first milk vodka, and we’re weeping tears of joy for him. Black Cow ($35) is the result of a positively painstaking process involving the milk of 250 cows, separating the milk into curds and whey, fermenting the whey into beer, and eventually converting the resulting sugar into alcohol. How it tastes with a tablespoon of Ovaltine is anyone’s guess.
