Perhaps you’ve noticed fewer and fewer eye rolls from car enthusiasts over the past couple of years when hearing the term “hybrid”? The Porsche 918 Spyder will do absolutely nothing to reverse that trend. Thanks to a 4.6-liter V8 taken from Porsche’s LMP2 RS Spyder racecar, the 918 Spyder will be the fastest and most fuel efficient vehicle in the company’s history. Assisting the V8 is a 115kW electric motor which takes a maximum time of four hours to recharge, or as little as 215 minutes, depending on how you do it. Only 918 are being made, but Porsche says this will be their blueprint for future sports cars. And when you can do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, there’s just no time for eye rolling.
