Ok kids, quick history lesson for you….the long version is truly fascinating, but we’ll just sum it up time’s sake (not that you have a short attention span). In 1909, explorer Ernest Shackleton abandoned three crates of Scotch in Antarctica. In 2010, the whisky was discovered (10 bottles were in perfect condition!) and sent to Scotland for reproduction. In 2011, the replicas are available for consumption, and you can actually drink 100 year old whisky from the Antarctic! Why anyone would want to venture to the Antarctic, I have no friggin’ clue. But, cheers to Ernest Shackleton and his brave crew. His loss is our gain!
