2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale

Much like the Millenium Falcon, Ducati superbikes are known for their ability to travel at light speed (well…almost), and the 1199 Panigale, the company’s newest speed machine, is no exception. The new 1199 Panigale is actually 22 lbs lighter than the 1198, and it is capable of 20 horsepower than the older machine. The Superquadro twin-cylinder engine generates 195 horsepower, which should be more than sufficient for even the biggest speed junkie. The Italian manufacturer has even rolled in traction control as standard. Anti-lock brakes, however, are a stand-alone option.

But what’s the 1199’s true claim to fame? It has the first electronically adjustable suspension on any superbike anywhere, not to mention a GPS-based data acquisition system to track your ride. The 1199 base model package costs around $17,995 while the S trim comes in around $22,995, and the top-of-the-line S Tricolore will break the bank at $27,995. But if the 1199 Panigale is good enough for Han Solo, shouldn’t it be good enough for you?
