Iris App

If the iPhone 4s has you suffering from a bit of Siri envy, you now have an alternative. Iris (yes, Siri spelled backwards!) is the latest speech-recognizing personal assistant app for Android phones. Now, it’s still in the alpha stage, so developers are hammering out the kinks, but the world of helpful/puzzling/hysterical robot chats is now open to all smartphone users. You can tell Iris to call or text someone, or have your lady servant look up the price of milk in Omaha, Nebraska–just because you got it like that. The app is free, but keep in mind, you do need to have “Voice Search” and “TTS library” installed in your phone for Iris to function.
