Schott x Restoration Hardware Leather Jacket

Schott NYC, the famed New York leather and motorcycle apparel company established in 1913, was one of the first to endow the coat with that magnificent invention called the “zipper”. And they were the first to outfit WWII fly boys and legendary Hollywood rebels like Marlon Brando and James Dean. During the groovy ‘70s and totally awesome ‘80s, they were also the first to provide motorcycle jackets for punk rock icons like the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, and Joan Jett. Not a bad resume.

Now, Schott NYC teams up with Restoration Hardware, makers of fine luxury home goods, for this one-off. When purchased, Schott NYC’s newest leather jacket will arrive in a vintage-style Perfecto® presentation box, along with a Schott branded wood hanger. This unlined jacket is slim-cut, fitted with period hardware by Talon (inventor of the zipper), and it features a banded snap-bottom collar closure, welted 5” zip pockets, and 6” zip sleeves. The jacket’s true beauty lies in the  washed, distressed, “I’m not getting rid of this jacket until it walks by itself” look that gives it that timeless appeal. Crafted in the US from more than 20 hand-cut pieces of drum-dyed, top grain cowhide leather, the new Schott leather jacket is a Restoration Hardware exclusive, priced at $650 online and in catalogs only. This is truly a jacket for the man who adores leather and can appreciate the history behind it.
