It’s time to start the New Year in style. Meet the A1 Quattro, the limited-edition (very limited with only 333 units available in the new year) high-performance version of Audi’s subcompact hatch. Still powered by the 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder featured in the S3, this reworked version now outputs 252 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque, 70 hp and 74 pound-feet more than the standard A1. Upgrades include new braking hardware with larger discs at all four corners, a new instrument panel, modified ESP, reworked electromechanical steering that delivers a 14.8:1 ratio, and a new electronically controlled differential lock. On the “down” side, the trunk space is slightly reduced to 7.4 cubic feet, but the majorly bolstered buckets and sexy black leather with red stitching accents will most likely make up for that deficit.
