The road to buying a Batmobile has been a painfully slow one, we admit, but another solid step is being taken here with the Nissan DeltaWing, an amazing new player in the famed 24 Hours of LeMans endurance race. Pitched as the future of IndyCar by co-creators Ben Bowlby and Chip Ganassi Racing, the DeltaWing’s engine is mounted behind the driver with power sent to the rear wheels. Weighing a scant 1,300 pounds, the fuel mileage is superb, and every drop of petrol is vital in the 24-hour race. Heck, even Batman’s second car is a Prius.
