    2024 Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition is Like Driving a Diamond-Encrusted Panther

You ever seen something so sick it makes you wanna slap your mama? Well, don’t do that, but get a load of this – the 2024 Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition. This ain’t your average ride, folks. It’s like they took luxury, dipped it in black magic, sprinkled some gold dust on it, and said, “Here, drive this.”

When you first lay eyes on this beauty, you’re hit with that Manufaktur Night Black Magno paint. It’s like the night sky had a baby with a panther. Sleek, mysterious, like Ted Bundy. No, but really, those gold accents hit hard.

It’s a contrast that works, like chocolate and chili (be careful of the day after on this one).

The interiors are out of this world. Black G Manufaktur Nappa leather seats with golden stitching, Gold AMG logos on the plaques. That’s Mercedes’ way of reminding you that you’re not just driving a car, you’re driving an AMG.

Under the hood, it’s all beast. Advanced AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, specialized driving programs, this baby is ready to take on anything you throw at it. City streets, country roads, off-road trails, it’s all a walk in the park for the G 63 Grand Edition.

And…they throw in a customized AMG indoor car cover. That’s a fringe benefit, but hey, you can tell luxury brands by the little things.

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition retails for more than $250,000. That’s a home in some places. But can you drive your home?

  • The Future is Now: Alef’s Model A Flying Car

The Future is Now: Alef’s Model A Flying Car

Imagine you’re stuck in traffic on a Monday morning, the honking horns and exhaust fumes are driving you nuts, and you think to yourself, “If only I could just fly over all this.” Well, the future is here, and it’s the Alef Model A Flying Car.

Hailing from San Mateo, California, the start-up Alef has been quietly revolutionizing the way we think about commuting. Their brainchild, the Model A, is the first-ever vehicle to receive approval from the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) for use in the U.S. And the best part? Oh, besides the flying part? Well, it’s entirely electric. Zero emissions and a maximum capacity of two occupants. That means you and your clone. Because if we have flying cars, that must mean we have clones by then too.

The Model A is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Instead of traditional wings, this car/plane/ride uses eight rotating blades tucked neatly underneath its sleek, silver bodywork. These blades allow the car to rise vertically, just like a helicopter. But once it’s airborne, the whole car rotates sideways, and the blades propel it forward. Don’t worry about getting dizzy; the passenger seat rotates to keep you upright during flight.

The Model A is not just a car; it’s a biplane, a circular wing, a marvel of modern engineering. Obviously, there’s a cool factor. More than that though, Alef’s CEO, Jim Dukhovny, envisions the Model A as a solution to our commuting woes. With its vertical landing and take-off capabilities, the Model A can “hop” over congested areas, bypassing traffic jams and road accidents.

If there is a downside, it’s that the Model A has a range of 110 miles. The price is a reasonable $300,000. It’s a hefty price tag, sure, but can you really put a price on flying over the morning traffic with a cup of coffee in your hand?

Before you start dreaming about soaring over the poor, there’s a catch. The FAA certification comes with certain restrictions. It limits the locations and purposes for which the Model A can fly. Which is better than nothing right? It’s the first step towards a future where flying cars are as common as their ground-bound counterparts. I repeat, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE FLYING CARS!!

In the words of Dukhovny, “This is one small step for planes, one giant step for cars.” And I couldn’t agree more. The Alef Model A is more than just a vehicle; it’s a symbol of what we can achieve when we dare to reimagine the world. It’s a testament to human ingenuity and our relentless pursuit of progress. Random tangent, what happens when we have mid-air crashes? Where do all the plane parts go? Straight onto the houses below. Has no one thought of this?

Preorders are up here. Maybe one day, we’ll all be flying to work. Oh wait..I just received word…We’re gonna be remote working in the future and don’t need to fly anywhere. D’oh!

Mercedes-Benz Unveils EQT: Small Van Experience Using…Electricity!

Mercedes-Benz just unleashed their latest badassery—the EQT. It’s small van greatness with mind-blowing features.

First up, space. EQT is like a friggin’ TARDIS without the whole time-traveling gig (bummer, I know). You’ve got flexibility with a clever seating setup. There’s a third row that fits anything from a a damn soccer team to a bunch of adventure junkies chasing their sports dreams.

Lay down inside and gaze through the panoramic roof with a freakin’ starscape lasered into it. It’s like having your own private cosmic show.

The EQT packs a 90 kW electric motor under the hood, which is like having a team of 120 horses at your disposal. There’s zero CO₂ emissions. It’s as green as it gets.

Don’t let the term “small van” fool you. The EQT might be compact, but it’s got plenty of room. It’s like a TARDIS on wheels. And with two sliding doors, getting in and out is a breeze.

The EQT’s 45 kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 38 minutes at fast-charging stations. That gives you a range of 282 kilometers. That’s enough to get you from New York to Philly and back with miles to spare.

It’ll retail for $50,000+ and yet to come to America. When it does, I’ll be first in line.

  • Hyundai’s 1974 Pony Coupe Rebirthed

    Hyundai’s 1974 Pony Coupe Rebirthed

Get ready to travel back in time to the groovy ’70s with a little car story. Hyundai just hosted the Hyundai Reunion in beautiful Lake Como, Italy, where they unveiled the restored 1974 Pony Coupe Concept car, the Pony Coupe Concept-inspired N Vision 74 concept. This iconic Pony Coupe kickstarted Korea’s first-ever independently developed mass-production models, known as the Pony line-up. Truly a blast from the past.

Hyundai teamed up with the legendary Italian design firm GFG Style to do it, led by the father-son duo of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. Giorgetto, as a young visionary, actually created the original Pony Coupe Concept for Hyundai’s debut at the 1974 Turin Motor Show. Fifty years later, he’s back.

The Pony Coupe Concept made its debut at the 1974 Turin Motor Show, stealing the spotlight with its sleek roofline, dynamic proportions, and a daring B pillar shape. Also, its 1.3-liter inline-four that produced just 82 hp. Yea, I said it. And they even restored that.

The interior was equally iconic, featuring the Giugiaro monocoque design and a driver-centered floating architecture. This car was a true game-changer, setting the stage for Hyundai’s innovative design principles.

Its influence on Hyundai’s design direction remains strong. According to Hyundai, it awakened an appreciation for innovation within the company and continues to shape their current and future endeavors. Also, nostalgia never leaves us. That’s why they did the N Vision 74 concept.

Back when Hyundai wasn’t as well-regarded as now, the 1974 Pony Coupe Concept symbolized Hyundai’s ambition. Now, almost fifty years later, the Hyundai Reunion paid homage to its early days with this concept car.

  • The INEOS Grenadier

    The INEOS Grenadier

Off-road SUVs. They make you feel like you’re king of the mountain, even if your most challenging terrain is the speed bump at the mall. Well, strap on your knickers, ye old wee lad. There’s a new player in town, and it’s here to eat your SUV’s lunch. Meet the INEOS Grenadier, the brainchild of British billionaire Jim Ratcliff.

Now, you might be thinking, “INEOS? Isn’t that a petrochemical company?” You’d be right. But they’re not just about chemicals anymore. They’re stepping into the world of off-road SUVs, and they’re doing it with style. The Grenadier is their first shot at a consumer product, and boy, it’s a doozy.

Picture this: round headlights, a boxy body, flat fenders. Sound familiar? It should. It’s a nod to the old-school charm of the original Land Rover Defender and the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. But good looks only go so far. Or so I’ve been told. The Grenadier’s got the guts to back up its rugged good looks.

Performance is good too. The INEOS Grenadier packs a BMW B57 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. That’s a lot of words to say “this thing can move”. Power to tackle tough terrains and finesse to handle the open road. Throw in features like front and rear differential locks, underside protection, and a raised air intake, and it’ll take whatever Mother Nature throws at it.

Inside, the Grenadier keeps comfort front and center. Recaro seats wrap your body and are as cozy as your favorite armchair. A well-insulated cabin, blocking out the other drivers angry that your car is so much better.

Grenadier also keeps safety in mind. It’s added hill descent control and an off-road mode to keep you safe on tricky terrains. And for those night-time adventures, it’s got standard LED headlights and auxiliary lights to light up the path ahead. For the U.S. market, it’ll add even more features, such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and drowsy driver detection.

The Grenadier will set you back $70,000. Cheap considering what you get.
