HTC Sensation x Beats by Dre

For the audiophiles out there, HTC plans to bring  integrate the Beats by Dre technology into a special edition, HTC Sensation. HTC recently invested $300m into Beats Electronics, which makes the popular Beats by Dre line. Not wasting a beat, they’re maximizing their partnership in this new HTC Sensation. The new phone features increased processing power from 1.2 Ghz to 1.5 Ghz. Onboard memory doubles to 4Gb. Finally, the battery jumps from 1520 mAH to 1730 mAH.

What else increases? Oh yea, the price. Unlocked HTC Sensations go for about $570. Your special edition, Dre Day HTC Sensation? $847. On the one hand, you’re paying for a more powerful phone having better sound quality. On the other hand, you’re still listening to smudgy carbon copies of pristine music, aka MP3s. You could just buy Beats by Dre headphones and use them with your old phone, but hey, that’s just me. Rollout starts in the UK and then likely makes its way to China.
