Wooden iPhone 4/4S Dock

The Hacoa Wooden Docking Station ($49.99) for the iPhone 4 or 4S dares technophiles to front on the natural beauty of wood. You can’t, really. I mean, check out the dedicated spot for the cable–that’s suave. With your phone safely surrounded by rich walnut or maple, you’ll instantly feel classier–even if you’re watching Maury.

Possession Book Charging Dock

Sure, you’re addicted to your phone, but you’d like people to think – key word, “think” – you have a more cultured side to you as well. The Possession Book Charging Dock by A.S. Byatt of 2000 ($7) tricks anyone who happens by desk into thinking you’re knee-deep into some artsy fartsy literary classic, when it’s really just a stealthy iPhone charger. The charging cord is hidden in the book, and it accommodates sync and charge functions via the USB cable. You’ve gone this long, might as well keep up the charade.

Samsung DA-E750 Audio Dock

Dipping their toes into the swank end of the audio dock pool is Samsung, with their new high-gloss finished wood case-clad DA-E750. Featuring a 2.1 speaker setup with built-in subwoofer that’s powered by a proprietary hybrid vacuum tube amplifier, the DA-E750 cranks out 100-watts and looks luscious while doing it. Besides being a sweet spot for your Apple device or Samsung Galaxy phone, you can also connect through an analog composite input and USB port for playback from an external hard drive. Look for more details on this beauty at CES next week.

Loewe SoundVision

If you’re a minimalist, you’re gonna love the new Loewe SoundVision audio system. This sophisticated, all-in-one system delivers confounding sound seamlessly and wirelessly with six built-in speakers (two are integrated subwoofers). Use the 7.5 inch Multi Touch display or the Loewe Assist remote control to save your favorites in the system’s main menu to access them anytime from an FM radio, Internet radio, a CD, iPod, or iPhone. If you weren’t fortunate enough like me to be born with a chip in your head that lets you recognize songs titles, artists and lyrics at all times, you’ll be happy to hear that the Loewe also features an integrated music recognition service.

You can also send music directly from a mobile phone to the Loewe SoundVision via Bluetooth, and conversely, music can be sent from the Loewe SoundVision to your compatible Bluetooth headphones. And the SoundVision actually looks good too. It features a sleek aluminum silver or black housing to conceal the CD drive, and the side insets are interchangeable to suit your ever-changing moods. The Multi Touch display is encased in polished anodised aluminium, which enhances the system’s overall elegant, simplistic look. All of this from just one piece of aluminum. Now that’s minimalism at its best.
