With co-star Kal Penn working in the Obama administration, you can understand why there haven’t been any Harold & Kumar movies in a while. But cravings for the stoner comedies persist, so here comes Harold & Kumar Ultimate Collector’s Edition to the rescue. Set for a mid-November release, the boxed set will contain Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas. There should be plenty of extras in the package, but joints are not included. I checked.

It’s time to dust off the old “desert island” scenario, because if I had only one boxed set of films to take with me to, say, one of Indonesia’s 17,000 islands(!), it’d be this one right here. From the original slasher flick Psycho to the peeping tom’s tale of Rear Window, this set contains more cinematic savoir-faire than one cardboard box should be allowed to contain.

We really dropped the ball in Vietnam. We just couldn’t get a hang of the socio-political climate of the inhabitants, plus we napalmed a bunch of them. What a classic farce! Full Metal Jacket follows the bizarre journey of Joker (Matthew Modine) through the pitch black humor of basic training and the surreal horrors of war, all courtesy of Stanley Kubrick. The Blu-ray reissue of Full Metal Jacket includes a 44 page book with pretty photos and also some words. The bonus disc contains the documentary Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes, Jon Ronson’s film detailing Kubrick’s vast collection of memorabilia related to his feature films. Now stop trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose and go grab this Blu-ray.
