2013 Audi S3 Sportback: August Would Be Proud

Besides having a dope name, German engineer August Horch also founded the company that would become Audi in 1909. His dreams of creating a five-door, all-wheel drive hatchback with 300 horsepow–OK, honestly that wasn’t his dream. His dream was to bone Fay Wray in a gorilla suit, but this isn’t the forum for that. It is the forum though to mention that the above specs and more can be found in Audi’s new S3 Sportback. The turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI engine takes it from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.0 seconds.  August, if he were still alive, would also dig the S3’s reported fuel ratings of 34 miles per gallon. He was kinky like that.

Audi A1 Sportback Five-Door

The new Audi A1 Sportback has to be the safest car around for the simple fact that is has not two, not three, not even four ways to exit the vehicle. Nope, this hatchback has five doors for maximum people-moving capabilities and cargo loading and unloading convenience. Similar to its three –door companion, the new model will be available with six engine options, including three gasoline mills and three diesel lumps, the most powerful of which is a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with 185 horsepower. On the inside, the A1 Sportback comes equipped with 9.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to an impressive 32 cubic feet when you drop the rear seats. To top it off, the A1 features a loading deck about 25 inches off of the ground. At the rate they’re going, Audi’s gonna release a hatchback that folds into a briefcase once it lands from a visit with Cosmo Spacely.
