Floyd Mayweather’s Amazing Luxury Car Collection

Floyd Mayweather won a close fight Saturday. We say ‘rematch’, but Mayweather will probably duck Maidana now. No matter what, he still got $30m just for showing up. That means a few more cars added to his already amazing collection. It all started with a 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600, the first luxury car Mayweather bought. And now…well, just take a look at his collection. Read the rest of this entry »

Hertz Rent-a-Dream Car Service: From Ford Focus To Freaking Ferrari

Rental cars rarely inspire passion  — “Hey kids, guess who just booked us an ELANTRA!?” — but Hertz’ new Dream Car program will change all that. Ranging anywhere from $395 to $1,500+ per day (plus mileage fees), you’ll soon be able to drive off the lot in world-class cars from esteemed automakers like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. The service works the same way as it would if you wanted to rent Ferrari in Dubai. Hertz is busting out this service in 35 U.S. markets including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego. Wanna go home for the holidays in a Lamborghini Gallardo? OK. How about showing up for that first long distance online date in a Bentley Continental GT? Sure thing. Cross country baseball stadium road trip in an Elantra? NO.

Aspid GT-21 Invictus

Like your grandmother’s sex life, we may not know a lot about automaker Aspid and their newly unveiled GT-21, but what we do know truly excites us. The thing just looks amazing, and the speed stats are very impressive. You’ll command the power of 450 horses via the rear wheels and the 4.4-liter V8 engine. Aspid says the GT-21 Invictus does 0-60 mph in less than three seconds. What’s grandma getting these days?

Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster

The 2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster’s ($233,340) redesigned rear decklid promises to provide high-speed stability and lower front intakes as you pepper around town with your top down and your bottoms off. The 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine delivers 510-horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque; good enough for a 0-to-62 mph dash time of 4.5 seconds. Oh, and there’s plenty of carbon fiber on the exterior, so I’m sure people will be too busy noticing that to make a fuss about you being pantsless and all.

Bentley Continental GT Speed Coupe

The thing about Bentleys is unless you live in Beverly Hills or hang out at NBA player-laden strip clubs, you rarely see them on the road. So take a good gander at the new Continental GT Speed Coupe right here. The fastest production model ever made by Bentley features a 6.0-liter, twin turbocharged W12 engine capable of producing 616 horsepower and a 0 to 62 mph sprint in just 4.2 seconds. Plus it’s a Bentley, so on the inside it’ll be like sitting on a slice of perfectly buttered toast (sorry, my analogy machine is broken).

Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

With each new Mercedes-Benz make and model, we’ve come to expect increased power, improved efficiency, and a luxury vehicle that is as close to perfect as it gets. And the new ML63 is no exception. Set to debut at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the ML63 is Mercedes’ next vehicle to receive the twin turbo-charged 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine. Throwing down a base 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, you can up those numbers to 550 and 560 respectively with the optional AMG Performance Package. That’ll raise the SUV’s top speed from 155 to an instant microdermabrasion 174 miles per hour. Oh, and the ML63 will take your from 0 to 60 in just 4.6 seconds. That’s faster than you can say, “Mercedes-Benz. The Future of the Automobile Engineered to move the human spirit.” Because that tagline is long. Very long.
