Fresh images of the new 2012 BMW M5 have appeared. Available only in blue (nah, just kidding), the new M5 pumps out 552 hp and hits 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Some may mourn the loss of the S85 5-litre V10 in favor of the new 4.4-litre V8. The V10 redlined at 8250 rpm, while this new V8 delivers its torque from 1500 to 5750 rpm. Fuel efficiency has also become a focus, as there’s 30% less fuel consumption compared to the previous model. Also, drivers can choose the optional M Driver’s Package, bumping up the maximum speed to 190 mph. As of now, price and launch date still unknown.

The 2012 BMW M5 Concept featuring a twinpower turbocharged V8 with a dual-clutch gearbox combined with BMW’s M Drivelogic throttle response system and an active rear differential allowing you to transfer power between the rear wheels is the perfect car for the businessman who wants both power and handling.
Exactly how many horses does all this give you? There aren’t any hard numbers yet but BMW claims it’s “significantly increased” compared to the old 500 hp V10 version. Translation: it’s so fast you might actually time travel into the future.
