In retrospect, Mel Gibson’s portrayal of Mad Max really was just scratching the surface of what he was capable of, huh? The Mad Max Trilogy ($35) on Blu-ray offers you an excellent chance to survey the acting chops of a young Gibson in Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. The films are all set in the very distant, very dusty future with brutal battles for gasoline involving plenty of hardcore demolition derbies. And speaking of dusty, there’s also ample Tina Turner cleavage in part 3.
