I would compare the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth to Jackie Chan. Why Jackie Chan, you ask? Because by all things considered, he’s a small dude. But he’s a bad mama jama. The 1.4 liter MultiAir engine of the Fiat 500 has been turbocharged and intercooled up to 160 horsepower, which is some serious punching power for such a small car. Features like sixteen-inch alloys, dual exhaust tips, and white, black or red racing stripes give this mighty machine a track-ready look and feel that says “it’s go time.” And what about inside? The Abarth flaunts a thick-rimmed, flat-bottomed, perforated-leather steering wheel, heavy racing buckets, turbo boost gauge and shift light, and TomTom satellite/navigation with Blue&Me connectivity. Performance. That’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Fiat, and the 2012 Abarth delivers performance. And then some.
Speaking of performance, the Abarth made its network debut during Jennifer Lopez’s performance of “Papi” on the American Music Awards. Check it out at 1:10. Pitbull joins in at the end and for some reason, sports a terrifying bulge. He must love the Abarth as much as we do.
