Why stop at first, second, and third when you can come up a fourth version of well, something…especially when that something is a basketball shoe. Set to hit stores next month, the new Kevin Durant shoe, Nike Zoom KD IV, now sports a new Adaptive Fit System to help maximize players’ potential. Durant’s fourth signature footwear features a sheath for the foot, providing the ultimate fit with a wrap from the inside of the upper to the sneaker’s exterior. A seamless composite upper comprised of three robust materials provides optimal durability, breathability, and lightweight support. A low ankle collar gives a full range of motion while the Nike Zoom Air unit ensures additional cushioning and comfort.
Just like the rest of Durant’s signatures, the KD IV will include various tributes to his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and to those who have supported him. You’ve got the lightning bolt tread pattern on the bottom and the words “Big Chucky” memorialized on the heel. Big Chucky you say? Yea, Big Chucky refers to Charles Craig, Durant’s first basketball coach who died from multiple gunshot wounds in 2005. That there is the reason Kevin Durant is the most unselfish player in the NBA.
The Nike Zoom KD IV for Kevin Durant will be available internationally on December 3rd, 2011. Check out Durant talking about the shoe with Leo Chang, Nike Basketball design, under the cut.
