VW says the two-seater will be the most fuel-efficient car in the world, using a plug-in hybrid system to achieve an ungodly 261 miles per gallon. It’ll take nearly 13 seconds to get to 60 mph on the 47-horsepower, two-cylinder diesel engine, but again: 261 miles per gallon.
Just like with family pets, Volkswagen realizes there’s great value in pumping new life into old things. Take the old Mark II Scirocco GTS, for example. VW is resurrecting the brand name with the new Scirocco GTS, a 2.0-liter turbo engine-equipped sprinter with racing stripes all over the hood, roof, roof spoiler and tailgate.
