Aston Martin recently unveiled its new limited-edition Valour, a vintage-inspired sport coupe celebrating the brand’s 110th anniversary. With only 110 being produced, it’ll surely be coveted among collectors and James Bond LARPers. Sadly for you, all 110 are spoken for. Live through this article, chump.
This homage to Astons of yore is powered by a massive 705 horsepower V12 last seen in the DBS Superleggera. And showing its old-school credibility, the Valour comes with an actual manual gearbox – take that, paddle shifters! Though one wonders whether owners of a $1.5 million vehicle will deign to change their own gears.
Drawing design elements from past classics like the ’70s V8 Vantage, the Valour also bears resemblance to Aston’s striking one-off Victor concept from 2020. This fusion of retro and modern styling will resonate with gentlemen of a certain age pining for the glory days of six-figure coupes.
With its 007 connections, the Valour carries on a long tradition of Aston Martins and impeccably dressed British spies. In fact, the ’87 V8 from The Living Daylights in the James Bond series is currently up for auction at $1.4 million – sans any QBranch modifications, regrettably.
While few drivers truly need 700 horses under a long carbon fiber hood, the Valour promises a singular grand touring experience for deep-pocketed enthusiasts. Those lucky enough to have secured one of the 110 units will soon be living out their finest Bond fantasies on the open road. For a cool $1.5 million, it certainly beats an old VHS tape and replica Walther PPK.
