As an average guy who grew up watching game shows, it’s crazy to see how far Hyundai has come from the days of giving away basic sedans. The new IONIQ 5 N ($63,000) electric crossover shows just how exciting Hyundai’s vehicles have gotten.
This dual-motor EV SUV packs a ripping 641 horsepower that rockets you to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds. Combine that with high-tech torque vectoring AWD, and the IONIQ 5 N can carve up a racetrack – not bad for brand that used to be more connected to jokes than brand loyalty.
Hyundai aimed for rally-inspired performance, reinforcing the chassis compared to the regular IONIQ 5. This allows the IONIQ 5 N to stick hard through tight turns then blast down straightaways with supercar levels of speed and control.
The $63,000 EV might still be out of reach financially for some. But from a distance, I can appreciate the IONIQ 5 N as an aspirational performance machine. It pushes boundaries showing EVs can be wicked fast yet sustainable.
What are the subsidies on this? I need someone to fund this IONIQ 5 N for me before the sea levels rise and Hyundai starts making boats.
